You all don't understand the church on what we teach. Just go to a sacrament meeting on a sunday and listen to what the spirit teaches you. You need to read the book of mormon cover to cover to understand it. Don't deny that it's false if you haven't read it or you heard from other people that Joseph Smith is a fraud bogus read it and you will know.

Duh, that's exactly why. The BoM having only been translated ONCE has a correct translation. Then the bible which has been translated hundreds of times through different languages has a few incorrect translations.

Watch some of Bishop Spong's lectures on YT. The man clearly shows how absurd we've all been (and are). The Creator of the Universe is not a Methodist, Protestant, Catholic, Mormon, Buddhist, etc., etc... humans made all that stuff up. God does not "dwell" in some other realm, humans were not separated from God due to "the Fall", etc... please check him out, even a lot of atheists like the guy, he's not an extremist, and he knows what he's talking about.

Thanks for the info, Lieb. I've been reading a lot of Bishop Spong lately; he's my new, uh.. "hero" I guess you could say, as far as studying spirituality, etc., is concerned. I'm now convinced God is more than anything we can truly understand, and that *ALL* books (the Bible, the BOM, etc.) were created by men with little if any "divine inspiration". All our rituals, etc., are pointless. It's about spirituality; God is everywhere and part of everything, not some external being.

You should check out a book called Our Search for Happiness written by M. Russell Ballard. It is a book meant for nonmembers of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to simply help them understand not convert. It would answer your question why on earth would you believe that the Bible, which has lasted centuries, was not translated correctly, but the BoM, a recent development in human history, was? It would answer that question for you.

The Jesus of the Bible and the Mormons is the same. It is the Jesus of the Mormons and protestants that is different. The Jesus of the protestants and the bible is different.

do you see that you have put absolute limits on your claims? "there is nothing..." "there is no..." it is impossible to check every actual reference for or against an arguement. just an impartial idea for you to see, hopefully. aside, i wouldn't base a religion on any opinion other than my own. you won't convince any latter-day saint with the spirit of contention that possesses you. it is not a science to be proven wrong, but an genuine relationship with god to be proven true by its fruits.
