Is the Light Brown Apple Moth (LBAM) as big a 'threat to agriculture and trade' as the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) claims? Or is it a psudo-'emergency' created to pad the CDFA's budget with Homeland Security funding that goes into the coffers of well-connected pesticide makers? How can citizens prevent the CDFA from 'spraying-them-for-profit' with toxic chemicals known to cause sickness in humans and death to pets and wild creatures?
Experts speak and citizens ask tough questions at the May 28, 2009 Sonama LBAM Forum organized by clean environment advocate Yannick Phillips. CDFA was invited to participate, but declined.
