This is mainly a video about Sherlock Holmes and his addiction to cocaine strictly bond to his beautiful, brilliant, perfect but tortured mind.
And it's about his friendship with Watson.

Don't be surprised for the plot: this is exactly the way as "The sign of Four" begins and ends.
That's Conan Doyle's canon.

A personal note.
It's not easy to perform such a believable Holmes, the excerpt about the rose, or the way he explains his tendency about cocaine are among the more difficult excerpts from Doyle's scripts. The actor might have seemed overacted, exaggerated or false: but not Jeremy. Jeremy Brett is just perfect as the great thespian he was, and master of stage.
I watch at Sherlock, and I watch at him again and again: no one has the elegance, the grace, the beauty and charm of Jeremy Brett. And his voice, his sensibility, his presence! What a dreamy man!
His portrayal of Sherlock Holmes is outstanding!

another personal note: at 0:42 - 0:46 how sexy he is??!! 0__O

Caro Pietro, questo è dedicato a te, perchè so che ti piace tanto l'unico "consulting detective": anche se per consultarlo, in caso di bisogno, dovremo andare a cercarlo all'arco di San Pierino! ^_^
P.S. certo che a 0:25 , quando gli dice "would you care to try it?", Sherlock ha davvero la faccia da schiaffi! E pensa che è Doyle parola per parola!!!

  • Interesting! He was addicted to the excitement of solving mysteries. So when there was no case to solve, he seek out drugs. Very human. His character was very well developed. Good job in giving us this insightful video.

  • aha! Brilliant! Great video ^.^ so well put together, and the timing is great. Oh Watson, your concern is so adorable ^^

And I love his sailor blanket like no other. :D

And yes, Brett is certainly one of -the- Sherlock's out there. He's certainly what I saw when I first read the books.

Lord, I wish I had the Granada series, I may get around to getting them this summer. :D

    "Holmes. Are you high?"

  • @thinker5 The first scene is from the episode "A scandal in Bohemia" and is the first appearance of Sherlock for us viewers!

Gosh! I'm so sorry for being so late in answering, maybe this comment hasn't been notified!

  • @XxLi3rose123xX Jeremy Brett was a perfect Sherlock Holmes as the consulting detective wrote by the pen of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Benedict Cumberbatch is so excellent and believable as the actual consulting detective that you could think that Doyle would be much more happy watching at this Sherlock than the Downey version! ^__^
