This is a brief video of the Western Digital Raptor X WD1500AHFD 150 GB. I used different camera angles and positions so that you can have an idea of what it looks like and also listen to the read/write of the head. Camera and my reflections on hard drive were included to give an idea of the material of the platters. Enjoy!

  • @ThemPPoints Showing your ignorant and immature side was a bad idea. Next time keep it off YouTube.

  • Designing a hard drive, with a window, is not as easy as you might think.

  • @Maxipad44142 Can you elaborate please?

  • @Maxipad44142 it really is...

  • @Maxipad44142 thnx for that Rodney ;D

  • Installed ubuntu 9.10 - That stupid thing formatted all my drives - Installed scalpel cmd line tool 4 data recovery - That stupid thing entirely filled my 320 GB drive with junk files - Need u r help 2 recover original data.

    Thanks in advance!!

  • @Monkeypumper420 You should always assume that your drive will fail and your data has to be backed up somewhere else - this is the ONLY true way to trust your data. Retail/OEM I have seen both fail within seconds, minutes, hours, months, years. What you do say does make sense, but won't guarantee that one drive will fail faster than the other.

  • @Sauber9 Correct.

  • @Monkeypumper420 - I've had the same experience with OEM or Retail. All my drives are OEM and I have had some of them for over 5 years. My newest drives are all OEM on my file server and have been performing like champs for quite a while now. To further support what I am saying, of the hundreds of PCs I have built, most of the drives have been OEM and I have no reported failures.
