That quote from Napoleon at the beginning makes no sense to a hockey training video. But its NAPOLEON!!!

what are you holding at 1:20?

These our great exercises however there is no difference between these workouts and other major sports. This is plyometrics football players do the same.

As a 40 year hockey player/coach, this is some of the better stuff I've seen. These excercises done right should build nice quick twitch muscles and a powerful core. Would be curious how they are used in a cycle/program... Nice form by the way...

@theword10 You can take a small pipe about an inch to an inch and a half and fill it with concrete. This works well. Around here in south illinois where sport shops with lots of items are rare you gotta improvise lol.

3:14 OMG
what excercises should kids do to be better in hockey
ovechkinfan25 3 years ago
Many people are uneasy about strength training for kids but i am a big advocate of body weight strength exercises such as pushup variations, lunge variations, assisted pullups or anything that will force them to learn bettter body awareness/control without stacking too much weight up. Any speed and agility/plyometric exercises should be fine using proper technique and no weight vest or strong resistance. Hope this helps.

Those lunges at 1:18 hurt my knees more than any other exercise shown in this clip.

Be sure your knee is not passing the toes when lunging. When doing your lunge you should be able to look down at the lead leg and see your toes without leaning forward. HINT: After your make your step your torso should then drop straight to the ground(not forward and to the ground)Both knees will have to bend to achive this.
