i what you see in this video is more or less a full fold. the only thing you need to do to get it into an average sized boot is to undo the 2 lockjaw hinges and lower the seat so the handlebars don't collide with it when folding. i don't undo the pedals, take the seat off, take the front wheel off or even disconnect the handlebars because i don't need it that small. for anything else, eg: public transport, then you will obviously need to make it smaller.

Follow up to Joekeepsrocking's comment: Do you need to take off the pedals to fold it? Seems like it would be a bit of a pain to juggle pedals and the bike when you are folding the bike at the bus stop.

Yay, he did it! Now someone buy that man a belt.

Can you still fold this bike in half if you have an attached pannier rack at the rear? If so, this bike would be great for touring!
This is a great bike but the folding is a bit slow and a little cumbersome. I would be nice if the folding could be made tool-less like many of the other Dahon bikes but you cant have everything I suppose.

@cartern316, though the LockJaw hinged bikes require a tool to fold them, it is still relatively easy and quick to do so. By using a tool we were able to hide the folding mechanism inside the frame, making it almost invisible. You might be interested in a grip with an integrated Allen key that we just released under the BioLogic label. This allows you to conveniently carry a tool to fold/unfold the bike with you at all times.

In the video, it looks like it isn't nessecary to remove the handlebar. Is this possible?
And is the folded bike rollable? (can i pull it around when it's folded)

You don't have to remove the handlebar but it will protrude a bit on the folded bike. Yes, you can pull the folded bike along behind you since the rear hub can still freewheel.

The bike can still be folded with the rack on, however you will need to remove the "inner" pannier.

By using the tool to lock or tighten the frame and other parts... will the bolt wear out after one year of use? The threads seem like it will wear easy. Montague's folding bikes folds without any tools. I really like to try Dahon's Matrix but this is the only thing I'm uncertain about. Any comments or help would be appreciated.

The bolt is considered part of the frame of the bike, which is carries a 5 year warranty. Dahon also makes most of our bikes that fold without tools, but the LockJaw hinge is special in that it is inline with the frame and allows for a more "standard" looking bike with full folding benefit.
