Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International Student Unmanned Aerial System 2010 Competition - California State Polytechnic University, Pomona Entry
Unfortunately, someone knocked the camera's and got the lens off focus. So the footage is kinda blurry.
First autonomous flight with wireless image link and onboard camera integrated. 1280x720 resolution video transferred across a 80Mbps 802.11n WiFi connection. Current maximum test flight altitude is at 360 ft. AGL due to Prado air traffic restrictions. The video is downloaded into a open source Linux switch and processed on two ground station laptops.
Focal settings on camera lense weren't calibrated well so the video is a bit blurry.
Auto takeoff with the laser altimeter didn't work, but the aircraft successfully flew autonomously with a solid WiFi connection.
It was more windy than expected and drained batteries more than we thought. Lost throttle 10 minutes into flight and had to do an emergency landing. Tripped in the field, but luckily the carbon fiber camera mount took most of the impact. Suspicious random guy crashes the party and asks us if we are allowed to fly, hops in his car and keeps driving around us not knowing that we sent our UAV after him!!
