Conservative muslims? Being conservative implies conserving the values of a place, a country, an ethnicity or religion maybe, but definitely a nation. Conservative Englishmen should stand for their heritage, laws, culture, and promote Parliamentary democracy as that was shaped by past successes AND failures all the way back to the English Civil War, English Revolution and Cromwell. Conservative muslims by definition are standing up for islam and whatever in their old countries they cherish......

MrStrictlyStock: In deed sir, especially when one considers that for the majority of the past 200-300 years the stereotype of Britain was that it was possibly to conservative both socially, economically & politically. The taditional British standard of conservatism was the model wich the the US conservative movement was modeled after. Most of the Brits I know still seem conservative politically, socially and economically on personal levels. The government how ever is not.

Brad: Is it not amazing what the word conservative means in Britain compared to what it means in the US?
And to think Winston Churchill and Enoch Powell belonged to this once great party - such a travesty nowadays.
-
Churchill was dumped and Brits embraced socialism. Mistake. MacMillan dabbled with Keeler as the Empire became naught, squandering what chances Brits had. Mistake. Enoch Powell was ignored on immigration and the IRA. Mistake. Thatcher revived patriotism, but the Iron Lady had too much ego to develop successors. Mistake.
Conserve means to save. Just what are these conservatives trying to save? Certainly not the principles of Churchill and Powell.

ZupaSC: This guy sounds just like an American Republican. George W. Bush would be proud to call this guy friend I am sure.
ZupaSC: Do you notice he is not able to promulgate any policy of his own, but rather prefers to attack the rising tide of the BNP?
Cameron must somehow think the muzlims in his party are shining examples. I doubt he's ever been to East London.
And most importantly, he doesn't address the ongoing flood of more and more immigrants. That should be a tip off as to his future agenda.
