The song was one of my favs in former times. I still really love it. While hearing to it some 2,3 weeks ago the idea for this story came to my mind. And Im proud of how it came out. =)
Ive to make you aware of part 0:32 0:47. This is the only part that doesnt fit in the storyline. Its kinda shows what happens later or something else. Youll see what I mean. xD
The best part in my opinion is 2:23 2:37. ^.^
And be careful! In this video Zacks a little shy! But maybe thats just a sham. xD

× Story ×
Zack Fair, SOLDIER 1st Class, has a special encounter after his last mission. A beautiful woman with white wings. An angel? She stops in front of Zack and turns around to him. The angelic being smiles at him. Zack cant take his eyes off her.
The girl Zack met is Rinoa Heartilly, a lab experimental mutant. With Rinoa, the lab workers latest project, they are only one step away from the final project theyre working for. So that means that Rinoa is even better than Angeal or Genesis, the previous projects.
But Rinoa isnt a warrior. At least she doesnt want to be one. Shes a happy girl that just wants to have a fun and she doesnt want to do for what she is supposed to: to destroy.

On the dance night organized by ShinRa, the employer of Rinoa and Zack, she discovers Zack and the two exchange glances. She smiles at him. Zacks embarrassed. Then Rinoa walks over to him. And Zacks glad and looks to heaven. Just in this second a shooting star flies by as if a dream came true.

The next day Zack goes on the balcony of the flying ShinRa-base. And who does he meet there? Rinoa, of course. She looks down, having her hair played in the winds and turns around to him after recognizing somebody there. As she notices that its Zack she smiles. Zack smiles back.

The next day again Rinoa walks outside and notices Zack waiting for the chopper. Suddenly she feels bad and doesnt really know why. Zack looks back and sees her. Hes scared right away seeing her sad for the first time. Thoughts are flying through Rinoas mind. She knows that he will go on a difficult mission. Suddenly she wants to stop him and ask him to stay. But her mouth remains closed. It seems that Zack also wants to say something, but he doesnt. So both of them take a last look on each other before Zack is entering the chopper and Rinoa is watching it disappearing.

Some hours later Rinoa is still outside remembering the precious time with. She realizes that shes in love with him. But she still has a bad feeling about his mission.

All of a sudden she sees images from nowhere. Immediately she knows that what she is seeing is what Zack sees right now. She can feel him. He has fought for a long time. Now he is falling down to the ground full of pain. In the next second shoots are fired and everythings getting dark.
Not wanting to believe that Zack might be shot Rinoa screams and falls down on her knees.
What a pain.

He cant be dead, she thinks. Rinoa stands up and begins to run searching for him. Memories of Zacks smile are flying through her mind. Desperated as she is she runs and runs and runs.

After a while she finds him lying on the ground in the rain, open-wounded and full of blood. And he no longer breaths. Rinoas world is destroyed. She kneels down next to him, taking him in her arms. So she is sitting there in the never-ending rain, having Zack on her lap and not wanting to accept his death. She cries and buries her face in his body. Suddenly she finds something on the ground next to him. A black feather. Rinoa knows it. Its a feather of somebody who like her is a product of experiments.

Later after Rinoa has got over her tears she walks through the battlefield full of resolution. She never wanted to be a mutant before, but now she has no scrupels using her inhumane powers. She activates her white wings and flies away fast.

Having landed somewhere Rinoa takes out her weapons while shes still remembering Zacks smile. Then, in a raging anger, she aims her sword against the person in front of her.
She wants to take revenge. She wants to murder Zacks killer. She wants retaliation.
