This saves over 5 frames (I can't measure exactly) from doing two slidekicks over jump dives. Slidekicks are ONLY FASTER after a nice roll. It could be a dive, it could be a jump dive, though jump dives are better. The use is somewhat limited, because you need a long distance to complete the slidekick, but overall, a use of it will save you a lot of time.

Edit: Guys, this isn't about dying first. ._.

Discovered this many months ago.

Another thing, is that if you were able to slidekick over and over into a wall, your speed will keep building up with diminishing returns. It stops at a pretty low number though. Hyperspeed wallkicks can go faster than slidekicks over and over and they take longer. Still, very interesting.

Thank you Johannes, for the capture, encode and editing. ;)

  • Oh I always thought diving was fast but NOT anymore???

  • Yeah, Slidekicks are faster if you have a fast roll.

  • so the normal Z+jump while running move is slower than these two? it sounds strange to me, could someone reply?

  • A long jump is slower than them all, except for really short distances where you start with 0 speed, because you can start a long jump in a couple frames.

  • Try pausing the video while it plays at certain points to compare distance over time.
