These old vacs used to scare the shit outta me as a kid! That includes Kirby's that some of my relatives owned.....I overcame my fear of vacs and now collect Hoover Convertibles...sweet vacuums that out-perform new ones! This is nice as there's more chrome on this than my car!

That is a fantastic Hoover cleaner. 1936 appears to be the peak year for these art deco/flash Gordon designs. Superb quality that could not be afforded today. these cleaners were for the very rich. The average household was lucky if it had electricity let alone a socket to plug it into! Good luck with your vintage cleaners! J.

how is its cleaning performance? sounds like it has some power. some of these old machines were built extremely well and might outclean some of this newer crap. does the bag leak dust since it doesnt use a disposeable bag. i use an old vaccum myselft, but its newer than yours. a 1981 heritage kirby. simply excellent.
