Incredible.....So talented, so convincing. She even put in a faint, nagging-wheezing, along with the accent, the makeup, the emotion and the conviction. Her speech when she won the Emmy for these roles, too, was one of the best I've ever heard.

M. Streep is a genius.
I agree with keithsmd since the Jews who are Litvaks must be from Vilnius in Lithuania. There were lots of them these days but they have nothing to do with the States. I live in Vilnius, it`s my home town and as a Lithuanian, I`m aware of the problems we`re facing because of these times and the Jews.

The rabbis statement to the mourners of their heritage is beautiful, moving, and quite wrong. Their clay is not the clay of the shtetl, their air not the air of the steppes, as they would soon realize if they walked or breathed it. Theyre not Litvaks, theyre Americans; their sainted ancestor saw to that.

She is unbeleivebale! And what she's saying! She is the best woman actor! THE BEST! andd this movie , is something else!!! Every word has its meaning! I never get bored watching it! I saw it, maybe a hundred times...yes! And I will again..
