@dempsey00 not bad but behn wilson and dave brown should be in top5 its just ignorant not to... the way these guys dominated the league...

Khav -- you're repeating yourself, restating your opinion that Wilson was the best fighter of the '80s. That you dislike Schultz is irrelevant -- the fact remains that he was on the ice slugging it out with O'Reilly et al. and he's more credible than either of us on this issue.
My top 3? Tough to pick just 3 and your choices would be up there. Certainly Probert, maybe Playfair, Twist. But others might cite Fotiu, Kocur, Gillies. The all time best lb. for lb. was Stan Jonathan in my opinion.

@dempsey00 shultz got beat down by 19 years old wilson....fuck this plug

@dempsey00 dude behn wilson was the best fighter in the 80s before big dave brown made his entry terrorizing the league.... i dont like shultz my top3 is brown, probert, wilson most will agree with that. whats ur top3? no bruins should be in there.....

Let me provide you with another opinion from someone who ought to know: Dave Schultz. Google the interview in which he was asked to name the best he ever fought. He picked O'Reilly first, Gillies second, Battleship Kelly third, Wilson fourth and Howatt fifth. You may not agree but Schultz was on the ice swapping punches with these guys; last time I checked, you weren't.

Khav -- MY biased ass?? I've got news for you, dude -- we're ALL biased; me for Boston, and you, apparently, for Philly. Go back and reread my last post -- I didn't say Wilson got slaughtered in those fights, I said he lost them, which he did. I also acknowledged that Wilson was an alltime great fighter, which he was. Toughest of his time? That's your biased OPINION and one can make a case for others as well. As we used to say in the army, "Opinions are like assholes -- everybody's got one."

@dempsey00 All these losses are narrow ones... and draws wilson lost 4 bouts not that many they were all narrow too. wilson was the toughest in his time wether your biased ass want it or not
-
Khav -- 20 or not, he tried trade with Wensink and got decked. Wilson was an alltime great fighter, no question, but if you look at some of his other losses -- to McClelland, Fotiu, Stan Jonathan, Hector Marini, maybe Tiger Williams and Bert Wilson -- I believe this is the only one where he got flattened.

@dempsey00 behn wilson was 20 that year his rookie year.....wensik was a bitch

What a battle . That one loosened a few choppers.John had the stash to
cover his losses. Two tough customers!
This is one of the all-time, most savage toe-to-toe fistic battles in the history of Boston - Philadelphia warfare. Solid punches landed by both men but two haymakers by Wensink at the end put Wilson down for the count!! Another victory for Bad John Wensink!!!

Two good fighters. Wensink was a legitimate tough guy.
