'Szamár Madár' - Venetian Snares Live Cover

This is a live video taken from my 2011 diploma music recital.
I'm performing my adaptation of Venetian Snares' 'Szamár Madár' from the 'Rossz csillag alatt született' record.
This is somewhat of a teaser video for one of the next videos I'll be uploading, which will be a full HD, studio quality version of this tune.

I transcribed this tune a year ago and have spent a few months going over the parts. There were a few minor mistakes, essentially accenting something slightly different to the drums part behind me, but nothing overly noticeable.
I believe I can take this tune a step further in the recording process and aim for the -exact- sounds and replicate as much as possible.
But for a live rendition, I hope I did a reasonable job of emulating synthetic drums and one hell of a drum part.

I was thinking the other day, that the track "my so-called life" has so brilliant drums also, then immediately your video came into my mind, and I thought if szamár-madár is possible to play this similar to the original, "my so-called life" is too...oh man, how much would I love to hear it once covered by you!:) I guess you have many things to do, but if you could it give it a chance when you have time and the mood, it would be more than awesome ! ps.: i'm bloody waiting for the studio version!

@godsmackhudejo Thanks man! 'My so called life' is a great track. I hadn't heard it until you mentioned it, but I'm pretty sure that'll make it on to my ipod for some future jamming. At least that track is in 4/4, makes life a little easier. Who knows, I might sit down and figure it all out. I plan on doing more videos of this style, so that might be one of them. The studio version will happen, I'm in the process of working a few things out and waiting on the engineer I've got to record it all.

Sadly there isn't a picture of that, but I can explain how I got 'that' sound.

So, it's a 3005 maple snare, with a Remo C.S. Dot head tuned super low. The splash is placed flat on the head and some tape is run from either side of the hoops, over the splash. Like in this vid: youtube.com/watch?v=JtBKzh__JS­U

I also have 40 strand wires on which give it a fat snare response.

is there a pic of your snare with the splash taped onto it? i've got the same snare and i LOVE that sound but i cannot figure how to tape it

I don't think I appreciate music any more than the next person, but I can't express how much kind words like that mean to me. It's inspiring learning that something I do can be appreciated like that.
