On July 28, 2009, Iraqi Police force of Nuri al-Maliki, ordered by the Iran's clerical regime and Khamenei launched a savage attack on Camp Ashraf, residence of the unarmed and defenseless members of Iran's main opposition, the People's Mojahedin (PMOI) and their families. The attack was carried out as US forces stood by watching and taking pictures. The Iraqi forces opened fire using live ammunition, tear and pepper gas, batons, and boiling water. Up to this moment, 12 unarmed and defenseless residents of Ashraf have been killed by gunshot. Nearly 500 are wounded, scores are missing and kidnapped almost certainly under torture. Many of the wounded are near death as they have been denied medial aid by Iraqi troops.
