i heard the super bas station was digital in some way
can anyone shed some light on this?
is it completly analogue
-
@mku17ra DC OSC's are analog, like the Juno OSC's (DCO's).
-
@Napalm1981 no the 1st melody was gary numan which was pinched by bassment jaxx.
-
first bass melody from basement jaxx =)

Do you think the filter sounds like a Roland at all?

I used one of these to control a sequential pro one synth via cv. An altogether different synth from the bass station. It should've been called something else though. The original bass station was such a horrible synth..
This is a hybrid analog btw. Not a 100% analogue. (DC OSCs)
Buggy as hell!

Sounds like the Synth that made the old ECW theme

right on that worked ...how about changing the midi chnnl, say i got a bassline going with one tone and i want another sound from the same module but i want it to be a different midi channl?
I'm using a mpc 2kxl and I'm trying to make some complex phrases but with different tones....you know what i mean? thanks i appreciate your expertise

Unfortunately this is not possible with this unit, its monophonic. However, changing both the MIDI send and recieve channel is possible (so you can record control changes on a seperate channel to the note data, or use it to control another device)
All is not lost though, I am not familiar with the mpc kxl, I'm assuming this is an Akai hardware sequencer of some sort. If it has sampling facilities this could be used to record and loop one part (say a bassline) then have a lead part in realtime.

Its a phat sounding synth, but the monophonic nature and some instabilities in the OS led me to sell mine and buy a Nova, which can do up to six sounds simultaeneously. However, its digital and just not quite the same as the pure analogue of the super basstation. I'll try and knock up a quick vid demo sometime soon.

Hi there, thanks for your comment. There's a small write protect switch just under and to the left of the display, flick it over, press the save button on the main panel and any edits will be saved. To save to a different location key in the desired patch number before you hit save. Saving is complete when the flashing led stops flashing. Don't forget to flick the write switch back over when you're done. Hope this helps.
