I can't for the life of me figure out what you are doing. I just can't see clearly how you do this st. I wish I could because it looks like you can purl really fast.

Thank you so much for this GREAT video !!! I'm a 49 year old guy who was taught to knit by my mother when I was 10 or 11 years old. She only taught me the regular knit so I just knitted the garter stitch. It was so fun and I remember I knitted quite a few scarves and hats :)
But now, thanks to you, I can do the Norwegian Purl. I'm from Scandinavia so this is the right way to do the purl for me, hehehe... Thank you again ! :o)

I really like this so far, but what do you do if your first stitch is a purl? I've just been doing the first one the other way. How can you use the Danish style purl on the first stitch of a row?
Hi,
Great illustration of how to do Norwegian purl. I now can so this, and it did't take long to learn.
I hope you check the comments of this video since it is a couple years old, because I have a really important question to ask.
When you're not ribbing or doing seed stitch but basically knitting one row and purling the next, do you still Norwegian purl all across the purl rows? Or do you switch to the "regular" purl with yarn in front?
I can see Norwegian purling as being a really good

@soolinj I still check this video, as it is the last video I really posted to youtube.
When I have to do long rows of purls, like the reverse side of stockinette, yeah I will purl by doing the Norwegian Purl. It is faster for me, still.
My fingers get strained in holding the needles/yarn differently (ie having the yarn in the front of the work, vs the back) so I Norwegian Purl for pretty much all my purling needs. :)

i havent been able to figure out how you manage to get it reversible! does it tie in with the continental style that you use, or is it something else?
help me, please!

@Remuda7 The scarf pattern makes it reversible. Click the link in the bottom bar and give the pattern a try, you twist the stitches like a normal cable.
It has nothing to do with my continental style of knitting or purling.

Me again... i have a question - at one point you say you can wrap either way (or pick up either way?) but doenst it make a difference which way you wrap? I know that one way is eastern and one way is western, so i am confused that you say it can be either way.
Thanks again!!! I actually bought some Vanna Olive cuz i love it so much in your video. :o)
