Northbound T806 through train smoking up at MTR Tai Wai station and DF11 0009 diesel locomotive has a very loud voice . It meets a southbound MLR and a northbound Ma On Shan Line SP1950 train .
You are right. While the northbound through train behind the MLR/SP1900, that train will go into Sha Tin Railway station Platform 1 and the platform announcement will say "The time of through train will soon pass through this station, this train going to Lo Wu/Lok Ma Chau will depart in due 2/3 minutes. Southbound through train sometimes is also the same. Once it is in Tai Po Market station.
Never mind. I can just work that out. The previous local northbound could have only departed a very short moment ago and then stopped at Platform 1 in Sha Tin station to make way for the DF11 to overtake. That made the DF11 slow down before approaching Tai Wai station and power up again vigorously as seen above to overtake the previous train at Sha Tin station.
Yes, you are right. DF11 is motoring at MTR Tai Wai station northbound track to Guangzhou. Sorry that I cannot answer you about the signalling because I am not very clear about it.
I use CASIO camera.

DF11 motoring at Tai Wai northbound track? Strange. It must have been delayed owing to signalling.
