This is still my favorite Disney movie of all time! I still watch it today, and I love this song. The scene that has the song always makes me sad :(. An absolutely beautiful song for a great movie!

@Tamagochien I'm Danish and I've read The Little Mermaid and she doesn't cut of her fins...but she does turn in to scum and 'dies' like scum in the water. So it's not exactly a happy ending in the real story.

@FoXxToxic You know that most of Disney´s movies are based upon books for adults and young adults? The little mermaid is a danish book in which the mermaid wants to become a human so badly she cuts of her fins. Sleeping beauty is a french book and the girl is raped, gets pregnant and gives birth before she even wakes up. Disney don´t steal, they adapt the book to a different adudience and hence is the story changed. The idea is still there, but not the exact storyline.

This song shows all of our lives inside. We always say that we dont care what people think about us, but in reality we do, its human nature for us to want to be like, to not be alone. But there is always someone out there who will accept you for who your are. This comment this to an old crush of mine who's father died a few days ago in an unfair way.
