Sit back, relax and watch a short walk though on how to make an espresso coffee from a domestic coffee machine. The machine used is a Rancilio Silvia and the grinder is a Sunbeam EM480 Cafe Series grinder. Aim for a consistent grind, an extraction lasting 25-30 seconds and a resulting espresso of 30mls.   • In my opinion, so long as tamp, extraction time, grind, temp are kept consistent, you can replicate a good result. I grind finer and tamp with less pressure.

  • It doesnt look like you're tamping very hard in this video (ie 10~15kg of force), yet the extraction is quite good. What's the trick?
