@PhysiologicAli i heard it regularly in 1976...

damn, the awkward israeli accent is still heard all those filters

The alarming thing about this broadcast is that it is more than 15 years old. I used to hear it way back in 1992 with my Sangean ATS803a which still is working well.

Basically what you'd need to look for in a radio is:
* SSB/BFO controls.. this let's you tune stuff that's broadcast in single side band mode, mainly hams and most numbers stations etc use it. Sounds technical, but isn't.
* Dual conversion - this is how well the radio locks onto a frequency.
* Continuous tuning - some really cheap shortwave radios won't have continuous coverage through the bands. They'll work, but there's lots of interesting things to tune outside the normal broadcast bands.

haha, as a matter of fact, i had 3 of my friends over the other day listening. They love the dark robot sounds.
I have a Grundig G5 FM/AM/SW. They aren't hard to come by to tune in to what you need, but broadcasting your own programs is an entirely different story.

@Lotusflowerism I need to do some research on what kind of short wave radio to get and how to use them but I want one just to listen to these haha. Creep my friends out with them hanging out with me just start tuning the radio and be like O_O

i love listening to these at home as well!

@pianistcarllewis true that, Every now and then I get my radio out at my grandfathers famr, which is in the middle of nowhere and pick up some amazing signals.
I don't know what antenna you are using but try setting up a logwire antenna. I drive out into the countryside and set up a 50m longwire in a field away from the town/EMI every so ofte - its amazing how much clearer signals are.

It's sort of a longwire.. well, various longwires, but I'm lucky where I am in that there isn't much city-type electric noise.
