A. Competition Guidelines
1. The Northern Region of Virginia Drill Competition is judged in
accordance with Army Field Manual 3-21.5. All movements and
actions performed during the drill competition will be judged under
guidelines of Army FM 3-21.5, the most recent version available.

B. Weapon Requirements
1. In order to compete in the competition, each weapon must meet the
following requirements:
The weapon must be an M1, M1903, M14, or Enfield.
The minimum weight must be 8 ½ pounds.
The weapon must be rendered unfireable by either leading
the barrel, removing the firing pin, or both.
Each weapon must have a padded rifle butt.
Each weapon must have both a trigger and an adjustable
sling
NO bayonets or weights are allowed on the muzzle of any
weapon.
