I took to a lawnmower shop they said it had too much oil and I had to open iti tried but it's hard. I'm looking to get a new engine.

I cleaned the carb and took out more oil just enough to show up on the stick the oild I took out smelled like gas I cleaned the spark plug and after many pulls all it did is turn on for 2 seconds on 3 pulls now I'm tired from pulling what should I do? Thanks for your help Terry

Hi Tim I bought a this motor with the grubee 4g I turned it sideways to fill it up with oil and I filled it all the way up I put it in my bike and put gasoline all it did is a puff with white smoke then it stopped i took oil out fearing I put too much, I checked for spark and it has spark but it"s not turning on can u pls tell me why?

Re clean the spark plug and try some starting fluid and if that dose not work take it to a lawn mower repair shop. If I was there I could get it going but I am not there sorry

Now at the bottom of the float bowl on the carb there is a drain use a flat screw driver and open the drain and let out a little gas to make sure there is fuel in the carb then turn the choke lever towards the pull starter open the throttle a little and pull the cord. Your engine is going to smoke for some time because you over filled it. If you need to the base setting for the air mixing screw is 3 turns out from 0 Let me know how you make out and my name is Terry not Tim

you only need enough oil to show up on the stick about 1/4 of a quart. Now clean the spark plug with gass and then dry it well next take the air filter out and clean it by rinsing it with gas and then put 1/2 an oz of oil in the filter and wring it out and re install.
