Indeed, Streets of Rage of the "4-in 1 Sega Arcade Classics" (Sega CD) has better, clearer voices than the original one from sega genesis/megadrive.Here is the proof.
Sorry for the quality, anyway you can hear what is needed.
It's also worth noting their cries are more feminine than Blaze's, same on all SOR games I think. which is interesting. Not sure what I think about the Sega CD version sounds. It's different I guess. The sound in the SOR series is always A+ good.
@I8COOKIES2 Voice 5 is blaze on death / energy bar depleted .. voice 6 is one of the female ('crooked police', hired dominatrix, 'guard control' or whatever you want to think of them as) on death / energy bar depleted. So yes you are right, a bitch screaming. Being a SOR fan I just thought I'd clear those little details up. >.>
i got myself a sega cd model 1 version i can't wait to play and my terminator and phantasy star games ^_^

@JMFSpike The cartridge version has the exact same sound. The only difference is the voice samples.

@Christuserloeser Oh, I see. I wonder why they didn't just do it that way for the original cartridge version then.

@JMFSpike The music for Streets of Rage isn't stored on the CD. It's FM generated by the Mega Drive / Genesis sound chip.

@Christuserloeser I know. I'm talking about the quality of the sound and music, and how it's much much better on CD.
