  • Dieter, my Father was born in 1914 in December- he and his friends often would gather and sing this song and drink a few beers(bier) around the holidays. I would like to send your video to a few family members this year- ok with you? Danke sehr, Don

  • One of the most popular sounds at the grand ol opry, Roy Acuff and Brother Os and the Wabash Cannonball. Which they still made music like this, and men were gentlemen and women were ladies.

  • Look at the haircuts and clothes back when men dressed like men.

Thank you for the reminder episode with Roy Acuff !

  • I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Acuff in 1981 at a Captain D's restaurant next door to Opryland. I feel sorry for him because I boldly walked up to him and asked if I could have my picture taken him. Bless his heart he gladly obligized and was such a good sport. I could tell he was an absolutely WONDERFUL man with a heart of gold although I wished I would have left him alone and let him enjoy his meal.
