We're pretty sure Mazda didn't plan for the turbocharged Mazdaspeed3 to make over 25hp at the wheels with just an AEM cold-air intake. They'll be pleasantly surprised when we install one with Greg Nakano and spin big numbers on the Mustang chassis dyno. And so will you.

  • whats the year,is this the same for 2008

  • i have a 2012 MS3. i really want this intake. is it the same one listed on the AEM website? i've heard many-a-folk say the 1st gen parts fit perfectly and im confused. someone help please.

  • Trust me the intake makes a hell of a difference for this car. It's very restricted stock. U spin in 2nd gear with it like crazy. Cold air Is Going to be more power than the Short ram, ur sucking in all the hot air

  • INJEN VS AEM ?

  • @jufer102 the eti system which comes with the intake system tunes the maf sensor.

OR thats what i think it says on their website so basically the car wont throw a cel and its basically ready to go.

  • the one you trow on the garbabge you will take at the end of the video ??? -.- Come on stop it stupid asian BEABLE

  • my only question is how does the ecu do without being tuned for the extra air inflow? or does the ms3 need to be tuned after the cai install?

  • @its2realj Ya, that's a given. A turbo engine has a major advantage at altitude over NA. And? Anybody who knows anything about engines knows that.

I was referring to the "magic" 25hp that these guys "unlocked" with their whiz-bang product. I gotta SR CAI on my 09 speed3 (not an AEM btw), and sure it sounds better and it feels a little faster, but I could never say definitively that it gave me anywhere near a 25hp gain (and my CAI was under development for almost 2 years). This vid is BS

  • @Spool2Boost Naturally aspirated cars are turbocharged cars intake air at different rates and mechanics. A perfect example is when you take both cars to a higher altitude. The NA car will simply under perform due to the lower air density. The turbo car will simply work the turbo harder by applying more boost to make up for the lower density air. Thats why i always say exhaust and intakes basically do nothing for NA cars, but its a totally different story for turbos.
