  • What tuning is that in?

  • standard tuning.

  • It's hard to play rumba if you haven't been shown properly.... This player has potential ... And when shown what a rumba is he should be able to correct what he is doing... Rumba lesson coming soon ... Google guitarules for more

  • this comment page looks like a page in the bible full of random bullshit

  • I am very bored of this flamenco music. Everything stands on F and E accords sometimes G or A.. and again F E. It sounds nice, but after 30 minutes of listening it is unpossible how many songs i just heard.. 5,6,7? I do not know everything sounds very very VERY simmilar..

    Algun consejo?

  • you've never talk to a gypsy, have you?

There are no science, none, in the way a gypsy grabs a guitar. Not a bit more than the way a gypsy grabs a knife or whatever.

And I bet you ignore the meaning of "traditional". Traditionaly, gypsies do a lot of things. Many of them are wrong. Very wrong. "Traditional posture" is a description. No relation about what is right. Just tourism. Next time you got hill do me a favour: use the gypsy traditional method of treating that ilness. will you, please?

  • @em84009 Some homework 4 you: Gerhard Graf-Martinez "Flamenco Guitar Method Volume I" page 11 under Posture: Traditional posture both feet on the floor, body of the guitar rests ON THE RIGHT THIGH and the neck/body points upward approx 45 degrees. The Gitano posture is similar, except the the neck/body is almost horizontal. EXACTLY AS SHOWN ABOVE. So he wrote the book. And you ? What is your expertise ? BTW: Paco-de-Lucia crosses his legs and rests the guitar on his RIGHT THIGH . OK, I am done

  • @wanderatlarge you've lost the topic. We're talking about if it is right to imitate those who have learned to play by themselves and play splendidly, althou we know that their technique is faulty. I say no. Why? Because if you talk to them they will tell you how sad they are not to be taught right from the beginning. As you know, one can indeed play well using the thumb only and the guitar in the most awkward position. But we always will ask "imagine what he will do if using the proper technique

  • @em84009 Flamenco, like anything else, evolves over time. At the beginning, the tocaores played only 3-note chords using their thumb (pulgar) only. Even later, when they payed melodies, used their thumb only with techniques like El Ayudado, El Horquilla and El Alzapua. No rasgueo, no picado, no arpegio, no tremolo. These techniques developed later. So if you want to be "purist", only those who play 3-note chords with their thumb are the only flamenco players, right ?
