Cant they just place wooden or lightweight metal boards on top of the gaps thentake them off before the train starts leaving?

R142? Going through the City Hall Loop? That's rare. You must be very lucky to catch an R142 5 gong through City Hall Loop.

the readon they shut this station down is because the platform's curve. as you can see, there is a tremendous gap between the train and platform due to the curve so thats why i think it was shut down, a hazard to passengers
