  • you go girl my mother was just like you I don't have acsess to this lifestyle any longer but she took us girls fishing and she hunted etc...She taught us to be strong in life and go after our dreams not to let anything hold us back...your a great example to any daughters you might have even if they don't grow up to hunt they will remember you as a strong confident woman....

    We are fortunate that all of those animals/birds/fish were found within half an hour of where we live and of all of the pictures, only the duck and Pukeko(the blue and black bird) have a season on them. We can hunt any animal we like without restriction, fish for any fish with generous bag limits and hunt for lots of bird species all year round. I am very lucky to have such a supportive man who encourages me with my hunting and fishing.

  • Thanks for your response. We are fortunate in that we have made it our 'work' to hunt and fish. We have a little pup 'George'; he is an English Springer Spaniel. Hopefully by this time next year he will be flushing and retrieving - then I won't have to. Good luck with your retirement and thanks again.
