Interesting insight into a complex man. I can see how at first glance he might come across as an "eccentric old coot" but closer inspection reveals an intelligent, well-read man with lots of life experience. His John Brown look here is very off-putting in comparison to his early glamour years. He was apparently unafraid to explore unpopular avenues in search of answers to ponderous questions. Some proved to be dead ends. I hope he found his answers. Thanks for posting!

Ah, the days when interviewers & their guests could relax with a cigarette on the air! I miss Tom Snyder. His interviews were always intelligent & thougt-provoking. Especially when he had fascinating guests like Sterling Hayden. THANKS for posting this! :)
