@holywar911 i dont believe in god. i dont believe in the devil because if god is all powerfull why does he not banish the devil and evil all together? and if us humans were made in image then why do we have a tendency towards evil?

The Universe is conscious and aware, but that doesn't mean it intervenes constantly in human affairs. We have free will.

That said, the Christian idea of the infinite mystery transcendent is a kindergardener's concept. Read Joseph Campbell's The Power Of Myth for a much wider interpretation than organized religions can possibly provide.

And oh yeah - this is a great song by a band second only to the Beatles. I approve wholeheartedly.

@MrMetallica876 Do you think this was the intended result of God creating the world?  That this was the goal from the beginning? For example, is it painful to lift weights and feel the pain if we know that this is strengthening us? Is there any way to have a meaningful relationship with the opposite sex without experiencing trials and tribulations?

the fact that people can even think that there is a magic invisible fairy man up in the sky is rediculous. the line from this song that i like is did you make mankind after we made you. nothing is more true. even if god exists, hes a dick. if there was a god? why is there so much pain and death in the world?

@gjon5 I'm not Religious, but from a hypothetical standpoint, maybe the second question answers your first? Maybe The Devil and God are two sides of the same coin, and thus our tendency towards evil and why God cannot simply do away with him.
