Este video hecho en 1987, dividido en tres partes, fue el primero de una serie que denominé "Los Barcos", trata sobre algunas de las labores que desempeña este tipo de embarcación.
El remolcador, es un barco utilizado para ayudar a las maniobras de otras embarcaciones, principalmente al halar o empujar a los buques en los muelles, pero también trabajan en mar abierto o a través de ríos y canales.
Igualmente se usan para remolcar barcazas, barcos incapacitados u otros equipos, así como ayudar en
labores contra incendios.
En los puertos, su objetivo principal es guiar a los buques para atracar donde llevarán a cabo la carga y descarga. En algunos casos el remolcador transporta también a los prácticos o pilotos del puerto, para transferirlos al barco donde dirijirán las maniobras de entrada o salida de los barcos en los muelles, garantizando así la prevencion de accidentes y coliciones con estructuras, tierra firme y otras
embarcaciones. Los remolcadores tienen una gran potencia para su tamaño.
