You can tell shes pulling a big load.
-
The stack talk sounds like "I know I can, I know I can."
-
good clean stack, excellent firing.

It's a shame every time i watch one of these videos she's always pulling a diesel and modern rail cars. Just don't look natural. scott6595

@FMTFXE22 If its being properly fired...there wouldnt be any smoke at all like in the vid. Most of the smoke in other videos is just for the cameras.

Beautiful

I take it the 'item' behind the tender is there for peace of mind and not assisting. Lovely to see steam working for a living, all credit to the crew (not one slip) and the camera operator.

Thank you. I passed your comment on to my husband.

This is one of the finest shots of steam power in the last quarter-century. The "cameraman" (artist) framed the pictures correctly, had good equipment, and just let her run. This one is unique. To an old (66) steam friend it brought tears to the eyes.

I will make sure my husband reads this. He did the video, I just had the YouTube account.
On his behalf I thank you so much!

My husband says that it's always had a component that burns some fuel oil....That's it's not anything new or PC....Eliza

Love the train, but I couldn't help but notice that it was not belching out any big puff of white steam and black smoke like it did on the 1991 video. Did they convert it to burn propane instead of wood or coal? Has the PC do-gooder infected even this marvelous piece of nostalgia too?

I don't think that's the case. For some reason the smoke isn't that visible. We did notice that it stood out much more when the train got far in front of us.
