Euro Disco in Brazil
Thanks to the Germanic settlement in Santa Catarina, this state was the first to promote this genre of music in Brazil in the mid 80s.Through a record store in Joinville called "Music Shop", its owner, Valdir Polzin maintained contact with several distributors in Germany sound, importing a great variety of regional discs containing music and German Schlager Volksmusik, italo disco and euro disco. Through a radio program called "Successes of German Music" and the contact that extreito Valdir Polzin had with the radios and discos de Joinville and Region, Euro Disco was widely publicized and became a mania, highlighting several disc jockeys from other states, among them Reverson Barbosa, responsible for disclosing the gender of the club in Parana through "System-X" and later in his shop "Doctor Disk". Joinville gender Euro Disco still worshiped and calling attention today through smaller meetings between groups of collectors, and larger gatherings in clubs that bring together more than 6000 people as the party of "REENCONTRO the gymnast." It also has the dissemination through a radio program that is maintained for over 10 years on the air called "Accelerated Pitch" as regards current songs, and every first Saturday of the month is a program entirely devoted to the genre, called "Euro Disco Special ", the only radio program in Brazil totally dedicated to this style.
The Internet radio "station Eurodisc" in Curitiba, Paraná, was the first radio web exclusively for the style and Euro Disco Italodisco founded by Emerson Up and Sandro Cesar bringing the best hits of the era with live participation of various singers.
In Mandaguari, Parana, have been going to Euro Dance festival, first held in 2005 attended by approximately 800 people, is already the second with more than a thousand people, and each year this number has increased. The party comes from beginning to end Euro Disco classics that are played on a screen. The party is led by King James Mandaguari and the last was enlivened by DJ Andrew of Ubiratã, Paraná.
