would be amazing if they would build a tunnel to ireland, then it would be connected to the whole of britian and europe, problemis ireland would have to change it track gaurge to british standed, just like in spain and portugal for trains to france and tunneled to morroco.
I just love the noise which Pendos make whilst acclerating, although you don't get it in coach H, as it's where the pantograph is when going southbound.
The Pendolino is a huge advance on the the old trains that used to do the Euston to Holyhead run. Ive seen them all over 40 years. But they still havn't electrified the line from Crewe to Holyhead and it has to be towed by a diesel for this part of the trip.I would have expected a tunnel to Dublin by now.
GNER are not bankrupt, its seperate from the Sea Containers. GNER are in fact doing very well, its just the Sea Container group are sinking (pardon the pun!)
I've ever ridden Virgin Trains Pendolino 1st class!
I was pleased because it was electric train! It was not diesel
I used the transpennine express service but it was diesel train.
In addition, the transpennine express service is not punctual.
On the other hand, Virgin train is really punctual and has nice service.
Its 1st class is very quiet and I could eat and drink without paying!!
I paid only train fare(20 pounds). I could ride 1st class with only 20 pounds, because I had a 16-25 railcard.
