Tutorial detailing how to add particle effects for more realism to a map/mission. This tutorial deals with fire and smoke for damaged vehicles, but there are plenty of other effects in the 'fx' menu to choose from. If you want effects to spawn in a game, you must follow the steps in this tutorial - adding them into a mission like you add entities doesn't work, because the effects will not appear when the game is reloaded (only some of them are 'storeable'). They must be spawned.

Changing the size of the radius of the waypoints also makes the fx appear in a more precise area - no point in spawning fire 10 metres away from a destroyed truck!

Use the explosions in the Service menu to make more variants of damaged vehicles, too. Don't use the explosions in the fx menu for this, though, as they are purely for visual effect only, and do not damage anything.

  • i must say, out of all the tutorials on here, your vids continue to intrigue me and get me trying all these new things, im currently trying to make a band of brothers campaign, but its difficult coding everything. hopefully soon you'll get into more intricut stuff :)

I'm making as many as I can, and I am trying to work out as many things as possible - looking at missions in the game, using the written tutorials on DMS forum as a guide, and even working out new stuff.
