would you leave the belly meat on a channel if it were caught in a farm pond? and i just cut the red stripe out of the fillet down the middle, never knew about cutting off all the dark meat. im just afraid im going to be wasteful by doing that. thanks for posting the video i think theres some great tips.

@todd1789 You can leave the belly meat on, that is not a problem. If there are any chemicals in the water, the fish will have it stored in the fat and the belly meat, but if the water is clean, you have no worries.
The other option in order not to waste any meat is that you can also use any left over meat as a base for a fish soup - it will make a great stock :)
