I've been experimenting with the reversal of songs lately. Usually, I reverse my own songs..but I've decided to try something different. I love Eric Whitacre and his pieces are incredible, and they sort of deliver an equally moving message when played backwards. I give you: "Lux Aurumque" - Reversed, by Eric Whitacre.

  • Excuse my language..i don't normally talk like this. But this is a mind-fuck at its most awesome.

  • @mlr2107 Ha! Thank you xD

  • This was a total mind fuck for me. I love this song so much and know it by heart but hearing it backwards was strangely unconnectable for me. What a crazy creative idea...

  • @melcano1 Thanks!

  • This was on Eric's Facebook page. He says "Actually kind of works," in case you were wondering.

  • @djmordigal I posted this, Abandoned the computer for about an hour, and opened my facebook page to see Eric Whitacre had posted "Lux in reverse...etc." but I didn't realize it was my own video for a few seconds. When I realized it was mine, I felt an intense shot of adrenaline. Biggest moment of shock in my life, truly.

  • Eric Whitacre himself sent me here!

  • Eric Whitacre, I will go wherever you say music is.

Why? Because when I go where you direct me to, I'm never disappointed. :)

  • hi, mandy here: holy shit.

  • @TheCommonStrangerr I know that feeling.

  • The beginning and ends are just fantastic!

  • The whispers are beautiful in this song...it's amazing how it sounds like a completely different song..amazing :]

  • Amazing! It works as a soundtrack to a cosmic travel through mysterious galaxies.

I guess that this trick works best with a cappella choral music and especially when crescendos and diminuendos are most symmetrical. Maybe more rhythmical pieces wouldn't prove so effective.

  • This is actually really cool!

I think Friday could be very funny backwards... Just a thought.
