This short film shows Copp's Hill Burial Ground (or Burying Ground),which was founded in 1659 in Boston, Massachusetts. The video also depicts Old North Church where Paul Revere was notified by lantern that the British were coming. In the distance is the Charles River, Boston Harbor and the Zakim Bridge. Also seen in the Puritan Cemetery are the graves and tombs of Cotton Mather, Increase Mather, 17th Puritan Christian ministers and Prince Hall, founder of the African American Masons, named after him.

  • Does anybody know if the graveyard was originally a church graveyard? Was this a common graveyard without a meeting house or church?

  • I believe it was not affiliated with a church, although Old North Church is located nearby.

  • @Jignasty5 i may be from Jersey but i have been a NewEnglander for over ten years. i have seen more of N.E. and learned more of it then most locals. i worked in roxbury for a year as a tattooist. i know the history well enough. they are not african americans, they are human parasites. shooting galore, drugs and whores! what makes them deserve our respect? whites built that neighborhood and as always the nigs destroy it. the jews create a condition to keep whites from retaking the area. jew war.

Sorry I don't let people from Jersey give me history lessons about my own town. I grew up in the neighborhoods you're talking about so I know instantly that you don't have a clue on what you're talking about. Roxbury (You mispelled the town in your rant above) has been the center for African Americans in Boston for over a century now and before that it was a Jewish neighborhood. You would have to go back to before the civil war to see an Anglo Roxbury.

  • @Hikaru2g hey pussboy, saving the world one day at a time huh? has your pussass been?

  • @Jignasty5 fuck your stupid self shitbag! tell me its not true what i say!!! sorry to burst your silly bubble. we got poor old Dorchester and Roxxburry in Boston region if you dont believe me. go take a nice walk through that area and see if you dont get jumped or killed at the right moment. fuck you , its true!!!

Shut your filthy mouth and stop embarrassing yourself dumbass. You sound like an ignorant, miserable prick.

  • @raynard88666, People care and thank God not all people think like you. The one that is dangerous is you remember you made threats to attack people for being non-white? You forget to quickly dude

  • who gives a fuck about any african american black primitive negro?! what have they done for Boston or any major city but create filthy crime riddled ghettos where once fine white run towns existed? stop blowing smoke up negro ass's! they arent watching this because they dont give a fuck about our white mans history.

  • There is a magnificent book concerning the history of the burying ground and they interred there at the Old North Church gift shop -- BOSTON'S COPP'S HILL BURYING GROUND GUIDE by Charles Chauncey Wells. I visited ye area in October 2007 as part of a trek of sites related to the fiction of H. P. Lovecraft, Esq.

  • Not to be skeptical but I don't really think there's anyone buried there. I think they dug the bodies up long ago and relocated them elsewhere. I think they just do it for the tourists. I don't think such important figures of the Revolution would be so easily accessible to the public. But that's just me.....
