They are no the same thing. WBCs are Called leukocytes and are useful in bacterial infections. Lymphocytes are responsible for battling Viral and fungal infections. Macrophages are part of the Monnonuclear phagocytic system which removes debris such as old RBCs from the Spleen and reticular connective tissue. Macrophages are also in the liver and respiratory tract.

@oriondimension lymphocytes = white blood cells = macrophages
they are relatively the same thing.

At 0:48, lymphocytes do not engulf damaged cells, that's macrophages' job.
But nice work though :)

Basically, its purpose is to get red of the old red blood cells and recycle the heme to produce new fresh red blood cells that are more efficient. Further, it is the largest lymphatic tissue in the body...meaning it has a role in immunity. It eats up bacteria, parasites, and debris that is in the blood system.. and send antibodies out once it detects antigens (infectious agents) in the blood. Keep in mind, the spleen is not a vital organ (do not need to live) -Other organscantake its function
