  • My crowd always referred to this and others like it as darkcore jungle but for all I know they could have made that name up. I don't understand the obsession with neatly labelling every track under a genre to be honest though. Back then nobody really gave a fuck about genres so at the end of the day does it really matter whether ppl call it jungle or DnB? Dunno about anyone else but im gonna just take my trip down memory lane as I sit back, chill out and enjoy the choon.

  • Nonsense, it is drum and bass. That is why it says "strictly drum and bass". Because drum & bass a year or two later became the term for all of jungle you don't realise the difference. But it's dark core & dark side aswell. Invisible Man also recorded intelligent stuff which is drum & bass but not dark core. Also aspects of this tune are intelligent d&b. But you would have also called it jungle at the time, because that referred to all of the music. Peace!

  • @smartgenes I agree but at the time (well 95 onwards) drum and bass teneded to mean the cleaner 1 & 3.5 kick (with the 2,4 snare) D&B sound where as Jungle does refer almost exclusively to tracks derived from the Amen or similar "breaks" cut up to fuck.

Not arguing, just that in that era (as a DJ who lived and DJ'd through it) we did tend to only use the monika D&B for the 'cleaner' sound, but I agree that technically all jungle is D&B :)

    Peace man ^^

  • Saying this is like jungle and drum and bass is like comparing Coke and Pepsi. It's the same bloody thing really.

  • Yea in the day it was all just called jungle techno

  • @smartgenes spot on really mate

  • i was about 13 when i heard this on a pirate back in the day,and the stations would rarely say the track name,so i didn't have a clue until now,and just found it by chance..sweet !

  • sensai used that vocal line in a modern 2011 tune nexus i think, surprised to hear it actually

  • sensational..

  • @triptechable

This is early, a bit dated sounding jungle mate- it ain't hard to tell that tbh, well it ain't when you have been listening to this music as long as i have.

  • The Invisible Man knows his roots and culture - check 'Aisha - The Creator' for positive uplifting guidance to help you through each day. Peace.

  • @smartgenes blah blah blah blah
