@IMrNuminous I was merely making it apparent that you were speaking from a purely subjective point of view, with no first-hand experience whatsoever. Now that we have established that, all sits well.

I want to be like them. I'd have it no other way.

Good stuff, wish they had youtube when I was going thru these schools. Would have been nice to mentally prep for it. Two weeks of hell doesn't compare to 60+ days of Ranger school, watching this reminded me of the two week pre-Ranger school I had to complete right before Ranger school. Nothing beats making selection, no matter what it is, once you achieve that success no one can take it from you... Ranger, SF, SEAL, etc. its a 1% club only the best of the best can join.

@jackrabbit823 Great, It matters not about failure rates and statistics, but actions taken on the battlefield, and if you even try to tell me SF haven't done anything then you sir, are a stone cold liar.
-
@jackrabbit823 You are aware that it is only a course designed for them to start training. Out of those 111, how many do you think actually graduated from the Qualification Course and became Green Berets? Probably around 50-60. Not all of those 111 went on to become Green Berets. And trust me.....SF always has work to do, and always uses their training. During wartime, and ESPECIALLY during peacetime.

Any 18A would welcome SAS operators as team-mates, instead of engaging in juvenile pissing matches. SF and SAS are supposed to be professionals, and allies.
-
Not here to having a pissing contest with the great YouTube warriors. Nope, just a 18X-Ray looking for a little motivation after spending the day doing practice rucks and PT. To all my fellow 18X-Rays: Keep on rucking! "Limitations are for people that have them and excuses are for people that need them." Drive on!

111 selected out of 256 that failure rate is too low Ranger School has a higher failure rate and so does BUD/S this makes it really easy to get in the door why are the Green Berets so unappealing to me because you go through 2+ years of training and there is no guarantee that you will see a chance to put all that hard work to use and the Army National Guard has SF Groups too

Bravo!!!!!

Also, the fact that the company you worked for closed down isn't your fault so don't feel like you let anyone down because of it. Yes, we often tend to define ourselves by what we do for a living but you'd do well to define yourself as a father who is consciencious enough to admit when you have made mistakes and more importantly it seems you are seeking a way to rectify them. All the best.

@msk7046 Your sons are still too young to have made any real mistakes of their own. When they do they will realise that humans do in fact screw up at times but that it is how we deal with it is where self esteem and self discipline stems from and that is what they will recognise.
Here's a thought: if you're not an SF operator of any kind, how about you keep your cock holster shut when it comes to this comparison pissing match? I'd gladly hear any of this from an actual member of such an organization. However, we have no need for keyboard warrior trolls that base all of their knowledge on second-hand (at best) information. The new policy is to simply block them and delete their comments. Contribute something real, or keep your damn mouths shut. Thank you.
