looks like the ceramic spheres will take the brunt of the combustion/expanding stroke. side load will probably destroy it.

the problem is this engine is so specific that it has to be working 100% correctly or it will destroy its self.

at faster speed i can see the motor getting less efficient especially if it cannot get rid of all the exhaust then you will have exhaust mixing with the air and fuel soot could build up in the engine needing it to be serviced more often that regular piston motors

I would think sealing will be an issue. I designed an engine that is similar but used round combustion Chambers it will seal has more torque (leverage) but still haven't solved the side load problem

It's a long combustion chamber. So it's better to use two spark plugs for a more regular ignition. Look up my the engine of an Honda NR. It has oval pistons and also two spark plugs.
