The only surviving song by pre-Blue Öyster Cult/Stalk-Forrest Group/Oaxaca/Knife-Wielding Scumbags band Soft White Underbelly, with original vocalist Les Braunstein, albeit as a brief edited outtake (release the demos!!).

Recorded in January 1969; I believe the lineup at this time was:
Les Braunstein - Vocals & lyrics
Don Roeser - Guitar
Andy Winters - Bass
Allen Lanier - Keys
Al Bouchard - Drums
Sandy Pearlman - Harmonica

Other songs from this session that might someday be heard if there's any justice the world:
1. Rational Passional (L. Braunstein)
2. Fantassy Morass (R. Meltzer, A. Lanier)
3. Mothra (S. Pearlman, A. Lanier, A. Bouchard)
4. Jay Jay (L. Braunstein)
5. Queen's Boulevard (S. Pearlman, A. Lanier, A. Bouchard)
6. Buddha's Knee (S. Pearlman, A. Bouchard, D. Roeser)
7. Bark In The Sun (R. Meltzer, A. Bouchard)

Les continues to perform, and occasionally gives an up-dated stripped-down rendition of this very song.

  • Right on! Release the demos, Elektra!

  • This is better than the Doors at least instrumentally. This band wails, and the Doors screech with the high pitched organ on every song. Also, Jim Morrison was overrated. Soft White Underbelly should have been recorded and preserved for history, as Arthur Lee's band, Love, was preserved. All my life I've heard how great the Doors are from people like Oliver Stone. Love and Soft White Underbelly were much better bands, who never got their just due.

  • @bmgfl The Doors were never that good, damn!

  • @Durandal1717 Haha twat.

  • Very interesting... Thanks for positing this..

  • @Durandal1717 Good one!
