@Enerjee Tut tut tut so crude of you. I am far from it. You do sound very Conservative in your views mind you. In the long run though you sound very hypocritical in the way you say things and describe yourself to everyday situations.
-
@richieh1980 - you sound as if (and this is not a critisizm) you're quite institutionalised. Not surprising considering you were brought up in care. You then went to work for the NHS (the 3rd largest employer in the world besides the Chinese army and the Indian railways) and now the Foreign Legion. The NHS and the army are cradle to grave existences where people are "looked after" and encourage reliance rather than independence.
-
@richieh1980 - Well done on your success in education and career in the NHS. As far as opportunity's concerned you've had lots. Certainly a lot more than many people. I'm from a deprived childhood (father committed suicide when I was 1 and brought up by single mother with my 4 siblings in poverty). I wish I'd had your chances ! I agree with you about France looking after their own. Their infrastructure is great, however, their citizens can't be as enterprising as the UK's.
-
@Enerjee Ha! not quite. Was bought up in child care, left foster care at 16 to live on my own with several boughts of homelessness in my late teens. Went through college, uni and worked in Biochemistry and Haematology for years in the NHS before I upped sticks to France and joined the French foreign legion. Happier in France than I am in UK by far. France actually look after their citizens. So have I been given everything on a plate?? no I don't think I have

@richieh1980 - you sound like someone who wants everything to land in his lap without getting off his arse and making it happen. Yes, life's tough, but with your attitude you're making it even tougher. Tory governments tend to help those that help themselves by creating chances for people that wouldn't otherwise exist (self-employment, home ownership etc.) whereas Labour ones prevent people from getting on in life by handing out welfare benefits that discourage self-reliance.
-
@richieh1980 - Like I said, don't let anyone tell you that life isn't what you make it. You're right that we need opportunities to progress, but in a developed Western economy like the one we're lucky enough to live in there are many opportunities.
There's no shortage of people who want to come and live here to take those opportunities which are often not available in their own countries. You have so much negativity emanating from you that you're not attracting the right vibes.
-
@Enerjee Life isn't about what you make it. You have to be given opportunities to progress. Do you really believe the UK Government is helping or going to help the lower poorer classes?? No way no how. As I said England is finished. No past, no future i'm afraid
-
@richieh1980 - I'm sorry you feel like that and have to express yourself with such anger. No one progresses in life with a chip on their shoulder, it just holds you back in the past.
Good luck with whatever you want from life and I hope you achieve your aims. I really mean that.
It's true that life's like a bit of a lottery and a lot depends on what kind of family you're born into and where you're born, but life's what you make it - don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.

@Enerjee I got 2 lines into your post and didn't even bother to read what you wrote as the rest. As far as Labour go they fucked this country up good and proper, as far as Tories go, well see ya later, England is finished, gone. So yeah, you could say I got a chip on my shoulder and rightly so. Have fun believing you're clever about politics I prefer to live in the real world. Now fuck off
-
@richieh1980 - does that include the hard-working, self-motivated workers who vote Tory too? You really do have a big chip on your shoulder. And if you think that all Labour supporters are poorer members of society you'd be very much mistaken - they're usually the real snobs who care less about the least well-off and isolate themselves in enclaves such as Hampstead and Highgate. Believe me, I see the pompous, self-congratulating, patronising Guardian/Observer-reading everyday.
I came here expecting to see him lose his virginity.

Labour spend what they don't have. Conservatives make us pay back what Labour spent. It's that simple.
