This is the most beautiful opening theme I've ever seen.

  • Geez people. This Opening is beautiful. It's very simple but very elegant at the same time and actually holds a lot of connection to the story.

Nice to finally have an anime opening song in English too, kind of like Ergo Proxy.

    I think it's wonderful.

  • The vocals used to hit me as really weird, but it grew on me, and now I love it.

  • I realy don't understand WHAT is wrong with the way he sings ?????????????????????? My FIRST Time waching this I thaught it was a buetifull song :P

  • @barbiegottagun

I don't like the vocals very much either. I was watching the series dubbed, and when I first heard the song I switched over to the Japanese, only to find out that it was the original song >.<

Sad really, since the opening is great apart from that. I just wish that the song would have been sung in French like "Waltz in Blue," or Japanese at the very least. Or they could have written a proper English melody that rhythmically worked xD

  • I hate the vocals! I don't get how anyone can like it :o

  • Ah I closed my eyes and lost myself in this song!

  • I just finished watching this on Netflix this anime was PERFECT ! ^_^

  • This opening is beautiful. I love the connections in this show. The 3 on the beach were Edmond, Fernand, and Mercedes, and also Franz, Albert, and Eugenie. The past connects with the future. A lot of connections throughout this beautiful anime.

  • Totally agree with @thachacha1323 I absolutely love the art that went into this, it's magnificent :D

  • The song itself is beautiful, but what really hits me is the animation... so gorgeous. This was a truly amazing series that won't be forgotten anytime soon.

  • they sooooo copied Chopin "Tristesse"! :-) (great song anyway)

  • the cinematic to the opening was so enchanting... the song i was rather unappreciative of at first, but it grew on me- the piano playing in background is just so beautiful.

    :3
