Yes, Mr. Kid, we really did. I can still remember the flair trouser cuffs, the print shirts and the boots! You can find lots of things online about the 1970s, if youre interested. Have fun!

@hjavgvm OH,MY GOD! I worked at Monkey Ward in 1975 and 76. Did we really wear those horrible "fashions"? It was fun though, and we seemed to be happier and more carefree than we are today. You'e right!!

Except for the sherbet and pastel colors and earth toned plaids, there was a je ne sais quoi "style" to these clothes unlike the more toned down, less dressy (almost slovenly) looks of today that we can thank the grunge and hip hop movements for inspiring. I always say that I was born about 20 years too late (I was born in 1976), just after "they" took the fun out of everything, from clothes to drugs to sex.
