what school do u go to? Is a bulgarian headlock. We like to use it on the ground sometimes also. I think we have a video posted on how to use it on the ground. One of our guys got a sub with it on the ground at Hayastan Grappling tournament in NC. It's an old Billy Wicks move.

dirty wrestling would work well in mma but I wouldn't want kids to see this and start using it.

why not just keep the crank all the way to the ground and finish him off? Doesn't seem like it makes sense to abandon the lock as he's doing.
