  • Hi Shawn,

    I've been watching your videos these past few weeks and you've emphasised greatly on instinctive golf. I used to have a problem with my weight shift but after watching your videos, I just decided to lift my right foot earlier so that I instinctively shift my weight to my left side or else my right toe would be crush or I'd fall down etc.. Just wondering if this is the way to go? Obviously I only do this when I'm having weight shift problems. Thanks Shawn, your videos are awesome

  • @loopop2 Weight shift problems towards the target come directly from focus! You need to see my "Ridiculously Easy; Shawn Clement" videos; and see also "Listen for Focus; Shawn Clement" which will help you there; As for the right foot up; not a good idea; see "Anchor your swing; Shawn Clement" and "Braced Power Tilt; Shawn Clement"; BTW, you really need to get my DVD series which will really help you cut through all the BS; Shawn

  • Shawn - when the left hip turns "back to the wall" at the beginning of the downswing, is the purpose of that to pull on the arm-club-unit or is the purpose simply to get out of the way? My guess is the latter. Have watched hundreds of your videos and have improved quite a bit - Thanks!

  • @roytubby Many of my videos are for the understanding; then you rehearse a few times and get an idea of the feel; then I want you to turn it over to the instincts and they will do the rest; the next step for you is to re-inforce your action to target; whether it is using the hammer analogy or the fishing, or baseball etc (which I have a video on each) and then making sure that your focus is on the delivery of that action into the picture you have envisioned for the shot; continued...

  • @roytubby And to answer your question, yes! But this happens only if you are focused on a target! You are already wired for success in this area; please see "Ridiculously easy; shawn clement", "How to focus; shawn clement" and "farm hammer; shawn..." Shawn My new training video is coming out this week as well so stay tuned!

  • Shawn, how do you plant the left foot when you don't lift it off the ground, as I noticed you take it off slightly. My overall goal is to learn to get my hands ahead at impact by maintaining my wrist angles. Please help me out thanks love your videos!!

  • @LBos11 Hey Hey! Well to do that, you need the right focus and this is to feel a very distinct action of release in the direction you want the ball to start; see "ridiculously easy; shawn clement", "hammer through; Shawn ...", "Farm Hammer; Sh...", "Fishing and golf", "How to release the arm club unit", "Throwing the club" is a good start;

    Shawn

  • Shawn - you're my online teacher. Q: Even if you plant correctly on the front leg, don't you still need to counterbalance the swinging of the arms \with, say, the butt (in the squat?) or by slightly leaning back? We need to self-preservate. :) Roy

  • Shawn...I took this tip to the range yesterday...UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! Crushed each shot...No bad shots...EFFORTLESS!!!!!! I always had trouble with my weight shift and this is such an easy way to do it and remember it!

  • Finaly I found the piece I was missing in my golf swing, this video and the hips one helped me

    a lot to put everything together. Thank you

  • @clemshaw Thank you for the reply! I have been playing junior golf competetively for about 3 years now and have had success but now I am making sure I'm hitting it correctly :) Love the videos

  • When I make the shift from the backswing to the downswing my arms are pulled down by a few inches (by this shift move) and THEN and only THEN do the arms fall through the swing.. Your demo swing does not show any movement in the arms or club when you make the first fall move. Can you comment?
