i think intimate here is roughly translated from Sumerian language it means close. It doesn't necessarily means that they were gay. if u listen well this epic mention explicit sexual ideas including sexual intercourse, seduction, love making and girl raping freely, it didn't actually ignore homosexuality it was not mentioned coz there was no homosexuality they were simply best friends whom were close to each other like the men in east now. they kiss, they hug and it doesn't mean they're gay.

@Megaseawolf I agree with you, in Italy , Spain, Cuba, Mexico etc men also hug and kiss each other but it doesn't mean that we are gay, that mean that we are close friends.

Earlier Enkidu and Gil insulted Ishtar....killed her bull, threw meat at her....told her they would do the same thing to her if they could catch her.

Enkidu tried to talk Gilgamesh out of killing the guardian of the cedar forest....Enkidu died fora transgression that was the brainchild of Gilgamesh.
